Keguan Epoxy Anticorrosive Paint Factory Direct Supply [Supply to Sichuan, Chengdu, Yunnan, etc.] Epoxy Anticorrosive Coatings; Guanpai Paint Manufacturer: 152^0825^6966 Manager Sun; The vast majority of epoxy anticorrosive paints are two-component. Component A (main paint) contains epoxy resin, and Component B (curing agent) contains curing substances such as amines or polyamides. After mixing, an irreversible chemical reaction occurs, cross-linking and curing to form a hard, stable paint film. This chemical curing method gives it performance far superior to physically drying single-component paints.
What is the difference between epoxy paint, polyurethane paint, and fluorocarbon paint?
Answer: They are typically used together, playing different roles:
Epoxy paint: Strong anticorrosive properties. Excellent adhesion and chemical resistance, but not resistant to UV light, prone to chalking and loss of gloss. Mainly used as primer and intermediate coat.
Polyurethane paint: The expert in appearance. Excellent weather resistance, good gloss and color retention, strong decorative properties. Mainly used as topcoat to protect the underlying epoxy paint from UV damage.
Fluorocarbon paint: Excellent weather resistance, durability, and self-cleaning properties, but more expensive. Used for ultra-long-term (20 years or more) and highly demanding outdoor projects.
Question: What is the difference between epoxy primer and epoxy topcoat? Can they be mixed?
Answer: There are differences, and they cannot be mixed.
Primer: Focuses more on rust prevention and adhesion, containing anticorrosive pigments (such as zinc phosphate, micaceous iron oxide).
Topcoat: Focuses more on density, chemical resistance, and aesthetics (such as color, smoothness).
If topcoat is used as primer, rust prevention is poor; if primer is used as topcoat, it is not wear-resistant and has poor appearance.
Question: Why is surface treatment necessary before application? What are the standards?
Answer: Surface treatment is a key factor determining the anticorrosive lifespan, directly affecting the adhesion of the paint film. Without proper treatment, even the best paint will peel off.
Common standards:
Abrasive blasting: Standard is Sa 2.5 level (thorough abrasive blasting to remove rust, surface appears metallic silver-white), used in heavy anticorrosion fields.
Manual or power tool rust removal: Standard is St2 level or St3 level, suitable for maintenance or less demanding situations.
